Emergency Medical Technician

EMT 1 prepares the student for certification as an EMT within the State of California . Instruction includes topics pertaining to emergency medical care in the pre-hospital setting.  Satisfactory completion of this course and certification exam will allow the student to work on an ambulance, fire engine, or in a hospital emergency room.  This course requires 10 hours of supervised instruction in an emergency room and 6 hours of supervised observation on an operational emergency ambulance. (This course will occasionally meet at off campus locations and the student will be responsible for arranging his/her own transportation to those locations.) (AA,CSU)
