West Hills College Coalinga Graduation Statistics
West Hills College Coalinga held graduation ceremonies Friday night (May 23rd) awarding 345 degrees and certificates. When combined with the degrees awarded in Lemoore Thursday night, a total of 778 degrees and certificates were awarded in West Hills Community College District this year—up from 676 last year. The graduation ceremonies marked the end of 75th anniversary celebrations in the district.
During the ceremonies, Clayton Youree and Steven Tom Stefani were named Alumni of the Year, Vernon Gordon was awarded an honorary degree and ASB President Robert Wallace, a 39 year old father of five, served as graduation speaker.
Faculty member Faye Mendenhall was honored on her retirement from WHC. Mendenhall has taught since 1971 and is recognized as one of the pioneers of women’s team sports in the San Joaquin Valley.
Coalinga mother and daughter Jahel Esparza and Karla Rodriguez graduated from WHCC together.
Tiffany Martinez, Crystal Mena, Shari Savage, Diane Lake, Felicia Rodriguez and Rick Von Flue all completed their studies with a 4.0 GPA.
