We are conducting a reclassification study. If the study requires employees to receive an increase in wages, with the recent budget cuts, where will the colleges find additional funds to cover these costs?

Good Question. Vice Chancellor Stoppenbrink and both presidents, Warkentin and Lewallen discussed this very circumstance prior to authorizing the reclassification study. We anticipate that there will be some adjustments to current positions. In some cases we may be able to make that adjustment immediately, however given the current budget condition we will probably phase in any increases if they are to occur. I have personally had this discussion with Mark Millett, CSEA president concerning this matter and the possible direction we may take if adjustments are warranted.
