As summer is coming to a rapid end, I find myself wondering where all my time got spent this summer. I hope you all have enjoyed your summer and the scorching hot Valley weather. Hopefully you were able to get out of the Valley and do something fun.
It is also hard to believe that school is back in session and has been for almost a month now. Enrollment across the district is up eight percent from last year with 421 more students enrolling in one or more class at one of our locations or online classes. Also, more and more students are registering for one or more online class at West Hills, online enrollment is up nine percent from last year.
It is good to see enrollment is up. That means we are all doing our part. Thank you to everyone who volunteered this summer at Farmer's Market in Hanford. I know it was really hot, but you are all appreciated for going out and telling Hanford about all the great things happening at West Hills.
In this issue, there is a special feature from our very own WHCCD Marketing Director Frances Squire on branding. Branding is very important as it is the face of our district. I know we all want to represent West Hills in the best way possible, so make sure to read the feature.
Also remember this is your newsletter and I am open to suggestions for special features. If there is something you would like to see in the newsletter, email me (feliciatorrez@whccd.edu).
