Calling All Graduates

Student Speakers

West Hills College invites all graduating students from Coalinga and Firebaugh to apply to be a student speaker and or national anthem singer at their respective May commencement ceremony.

It is an honor to be selected to present the student commencement address- to convey a message of inspiration and encouragement, share common experiences and insights, and inspire fellow graduates.

Interested students can apply by submitting a written speech that is no more than 2 minutes.

The deadline to apply is 4:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3rd.

  • Coalinga students can submit speeches to the Student Services office.
  • Firebaugh students can submit speeches to Maria Ceballos at the Firebaugh Center via email: mariadceballos@whccd.edu
  • Students can also send their speech via email directly to Ashley Dove

Auditions be held with the President and Vice President of Student Services on

Wednesday, April 10th between 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the Administration building.

 

National Anthem Singer

If you are interested in singing the National Anthem for the 2024 Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, please submit your information to the following representatives:
