Access to computers for persons with disabilities now receives equal legal consideration to access to facilities. Students and employees with disabilities have the right to utilize technologies as everyone does. With the rapid progress being made in specialized software and hardware it is now possible for persons with the most severe disabilities to use computers.
An increasing number of WHC students can benefit from various assistive technologies. WHC makes assistive technologies available to students throughout the college. The goal of this technology is for students to complete course requirements as independently as possible. It can take many forms, from specialized software and computer peripherals to self contained portable devices.
