Intro to College Reading and Writing
ENG 100 is an introduction to the development of college-level reading, writing,
and related skills. Students will focus on the connections with reading and writing

Composition and Reading
English 001A is a transfer-level theory and practice in reading and composition.
The reading and writing include exposition and argumentation in rhetorical patterns
such as narration, description, comparison/contrast, etc., or combination of such

or two five-page research papers- to provide training in bibliographical techniques

World Literature
ENG 004 is a comparative sutdy of selected works, in translation and in English,
of literature from around the world, including Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and
other areas, from the mid or late seventeenth century to the present. Special attention
is given to critical thinking and writing within a framework of cultural diversity
as well as comparative and interdisciplinary analysis. A goal of the course is to
promote an understanding of the works in their cultural, historical, and political
contexts and of the enduring human values that unite the different literary traditions.

ENG 025 provides theory and practice in the writing of different genres, such

English 051A provides instruction for students who do not make a satisfactory
