On Thursday, October 17, 2024, West Hills Community College District will join millions of people to participate in the largest earthquake drill ever: ShakeOut! Why? Earthquakes can happen anywhere you work, live, or travel, which is why everyone, everywhere should know how to protect themselves should an earthquake occur.
At 10:17 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, all WHCCD locations, including our district office, Coalinga College, CC Firebaugh Center, and Lemoore College, will participate in the drill. All staff, faculty, and students are asked to join us to practice earthquake safety. Please review the below Earthquake Safety Accessibility Tips and Seven Steps to Earthquake Safety to learn how to be prepared and keep yourself and others safe.
Do not be alarmed as the district is testing its emergency messaging system and will be providing students and staff with directions during the drill.
