Heat Advisory: Stay Safe and Stay Hydrated

Hello West Hills Community,

A Heat Advisory is currently in effect for our area, with temperatures expected to reach 107° to 110° this week. While temperatures are expected to gradually cool, highs near 107° on Monday and around 100° later in the week are still forecast as the Fall 2026 semester begins.

The health and safety of our students and employees is our top priority. As you prepare to return to campus, please take a few simple precautions to stay safe in the heat:

  • 💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
  • 🧴 Wear sunscreen, light-colored clothing, and a hat if you'll be outdoors.
  • 🌳 Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day whenever possible.
  • ❄️ Take breaks in air-conditioned spaces if you begin to feel overheated.

Cooling areas are available during regular campus hours at each location:

Lemoore College

  • Student Union
  • Library

Coalinga College

  • Library
  • Student Lounge

Coalinga College Firebaugh Center

  • Main Building

If you begin to experience symptoms of heat-related illness, such as dizziness, nausea, headache, or confusion, move to a cool location, drink water, and seek medical attention if needed.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the Fall 2026 semester. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and have a great start to the new academic year.
