West Hills Community College District Hosts the 2025 Brother 2 Brother Summit at Lemoore College

Lemoore, CA—West Hills Community College District is proud to host the Brother 2 Brother: Unity in Diversity Summit at Lemoore College on March 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event is designed for young men who are high school juniors and seniors, as well as community college students, and will provide attendees with the inspiration and tools needed to pursue higher education and career success.

The summit features an impressive lineup, including Dr. Jonathan Hernandez, a nationally recognized professor and motivational speaker, and Brandon Leake, an award-winning spoken word poet. Attendees will also hear from leaders of West Hills Community College District, UC Merced, Fresno Pacific University, and Lemoore College, gaining valuable insights into education, leadership, and personal growth. To cap off the event, comedians Andre Covington and Darren Carter, known for their appearances on Comedy Central, will bring humor and entertainment to the stage.

“The Brother 2 Brother Summit is an incredible opportunity for students and community members to be inspired, connect with mentors, and gain the motivation they need to achieve their goals,” said Dr. Robert Pimentel, Chancellor of West Hills Community College District. “At West Hills, we are committed to fostering an environment where every student has the resources and support to succeed.”

Lemoore College President James Preston emphasized the event's impact on young men in the community: "The data shows that for the past 5 years across the state, our young men have been disappearing from college and career pathways. This summit is about empowerment, education, and creating pathways to success. By bringing together influential speakers, campus leaders, and students, we are building a stronger, more connected future for the next generation."

Beyond the inspiring speakers, attendees can participate in interactive workshops, explore campus and community resources, and win exciting prizes. The Brother 2 Brother Summit is an excellent opportunity for students and community members to build connections, gain motivation, and take steps toward a brighter future.
