The West Hills Community College District (WHCCD) has published its 2024-2025 Mid-Year Report, highlighting key milestones and achievements that underscore its dedication to student success, accessibility, and academic excellence.
The report provides a comprehensive overview of districtwide scholarship opportunities, showcasing the significant financial support available to students pursuing their educational goals. It also features academic profiles of both Coalinga College and Lemoore College, detailing the number of degrees and certificates offered, the top five most popular majors, and the top five feeder high schools contributing to each campus's vibrant student community.
A standout feature of this year’s report is the substantial cost savings realized through the district’s Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Open Educational Resources (OER) initiatives. By reducing the financial burden of course materials, WHCCD continues to enhance educational access and affordability for its diverse student population.
The Mid-Year Report also includes powerful student testimonials, illustrating the transformative impact of WHCCD’s efforts on individual lives. These stories reflect the district’s ongoing commitment to fostering opportunities and empowering students to achieve their dreams.
“This report highlights the incredible strides we’ve made districtwide, from expanding scholarship opportunities to ensuring our programs remain accessible and relevant,” said Dr. Robert Pimentel, Chancellor of WHCCD. “Our focus on affordability through ZTC OER initiatives and the successes shared by our students demonstrate the value and impact of the education we provide.”
