College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) provides academic and support services, as well as financial assistance to eligible migrant students who are admitted and enrolled on a full-time basis within the first academic year. Students participating in this program learn strategies to better cope with lifestyle changes, adjustments and personal situations that can impair educational achievement within migrant families.
Furthermore, CAMP offers students financial assistance in addition to traditional sources of college education funding. Through CAMP student participants are mentored to improve their organizational, critical thinking and communication skills. Students are encouraged to set goals and develop leadership qualities.
A unique feature of CAMP is the collaboration between the student, parents, and CAMP
advisor, to form a partnership where the parties jointly share reaching the objectives
and accomplishing the goals set by the student to complete their college education.
