Rising Scholars 2.0 at Lemoore College

Empowering Kings County's Formerly Incarcerated and Justice-Involved Community College Students

How Rising Scholars 2.0 Supports You

Lemoore College's Rising Scholars 2.0 Program is designed to provide comprehensive support to formerly incarcerated and justice-involved students seeking a college education by helping them overcome obstacles and thrive in their educational journey.

  • At our biweekly "Shop Talks" meetings, you'll find an environment where you can be yourself, share experiences, and get resources without pressure. This supportive community will help you stay connected and encouraged throughout your time at Lemoore College.

  • Balancing school, family, work, and life can be challenging. That's why we provide access to a licensed clinical therapist who is relatable, down-to-earth, and ready to help you navigate any difficulties you face.
  • We understand the importance of having access to a quiet, out-of-the-way study lounge where you can focus on your work. Additionally, we offer zero-cost textbooks and free laptop checkouts to help ease any financial burdens.
  • As a Rising Scholars 2.0 student, you'll have access to our Golden Eagle Food Pantry, academic counseling and advising to plan your educational pathway, and various sporting and community events.
