After over thirty years in higher education and eight years of dedication to the West Hills Community College District (WHCCD), Chancellor Dr. Kristin Clark has announced her retirement, effective July 2024. Dr. Clark's decision marks the end of a remarkable chapter in her career, during which she served as the College President at West Hills College Lemoore for five and a half years and the district Chancellor for three years.
Throughout her tenure, Dr. Clark's leadership has been instrumental in shaping the district's commitment to the "Relentless Pursuit of Student Success." Her vision, tireless efforts, and passion for the community have significantly contributed to WHCCD's success and growth.
"Kristin has been an invaluable member of our district, and her impact on the district will be felt for years to come," said Mark McKean, Board President at WHCCD. "Her dedication, leadership, and passion for our students and community have inspired us all. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for her years of service and wish her a fulfilling and well-deserved retirement."
Reflecting on her time with the district, Dr. Clark expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees, faculty and staff, students, and the community. "It has been an honor to be a part of such an exceptional community of educators, students, and staff," she said. "I am grateful for the experiences, relationships, and memories I will carry into retirement. I have full confidence in the continued success of WHCCD, and I look forward to witnessing its future achievements."
Dr. Clark looks forward to spending time traveling with her husband and visiting family in retirement.
In the coming weeks, the West Hills Community College District will initiate a comprehensive search for a new chancellor, ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining the high standards set during Dr. Clark's impactful tenure.
