National Science Foundation S-STEM CORES Scholarship

  • Up to $5,000/semester ($10,000/year) (4 semester max)

  • S.I./tutoring (Math 1A – Intro. To Calculus)
  • Cohort meetings/seminars (one per month)
  • Field trips (one per semester)
  • Conference attendance: 2 students/year
  • Paid research opportunities: $1500/student

Requirements for Eligibility
  • Admitted to WHCL
  • Declared S-STEM major (Biology, Engineering, Math, Physics)
  • Maintain 3.0 GPA or higher in cumulative semester coursework
  • Enrolled full-time (12 units minimum, 15 units preferred)
  • Demonstrated financial need
    • Completed FAFSA
    • Eligible for federal student aid
  • Completed CORES application
    • Write 300 word essay
    • Two letters of recommendation (from faculty)
