The Golden Eagles men's basketball team at West Hills College Lemoore has secured their position and is soaring to new heights in the Central Valley Conference play. The team is tied for first place in the league standings with recent triumphs over Porterville College, Reedley College, West Hills College Coalinga, and Fresno City.
James Nichols, a formidable force on the court, leads the conference in rebounds per
game, while Trey Booker-Lowery commands the Eagles' scoring with an impressive 16
points per game. The team has established itself as a force to be reckoned with, leading
the conference in three-point field goal percentage and rebounds per game.
"This remarkable achievement marks the first time in the program's six-year history
that the Golden Eagles proudly sit atop the league standings," said Andrea Picchi,
Associate Dean of Athletics at WHCL.
The community is invited to witness the Golden Eagles in action as they take the floor
at the Golden Eagle Arena on January 27 at 3 pm against Columbia College and again
on January 31, featuring the men's game at 5 pm and the women's game at 7 pm against
Merced College.
The double-header on January 31 will be an event the whole community can enjoy. Local
shelters, including Valley Animal Haven Lemoore, Gimme Love Animal Shelter Coalinga,
and Avenal Animal Shelter Avenal, will be on-site, and the public can meet and adopt
animals. Fundraising activities, such as a raffle for a TV and a shoot-a-thon during
halftime of both games, will contribute to these shelters.
"On January 31, we will spotlight our dedicated staff and faculty during Staff and
Faculty Appreciation Night," said Picchi. "CSEA members, faculty, and staff will be
honored before the first game."
Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the excitement and community engagement as the Golden Eagles continue their historic journey in the Central Valley Conference.
