Lemoore College will host its annual First Responders Expo on May 2, 2024, at 555 College Ave, Lemoore, CA 93245. The event aims to honor and showcase the invaluable work of first responders while educating the students and the community about safety and emergency preparedness.
"The First Responders Expo represents an invaluable bridge between our students and the dedicated men and women who serve our communities in times of crisis," said James Preston, President of Lemoore College. "This event highlights the importance of public safety and inspires our students to pursue careers dedicated to serving and protecting others."
The expo will kick off with check-in procedures between 9:30 and 10:30 am in front of the Student Union. Attendees are requested to enter through Parking Lot K. A campus map can be found here.
Students will be provided with lunch, and lunch vouchers will be conveniently included in the vendor bags, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.
The day unfolds with engaging demonstrations and activities. The schedule includes thrilling showcases such as the CHP Helicopter demonstration at approximately 11:30 am, followed by the Disturbance Control Team presentation around noon. The Lemoore PD K-9 Unit will be spotlighted at approximately 12:30 pm, highlighting its vital role in public safety.
One of the most unique aspects of the expo is the opportunity for attendees to interact with our local first responders. The Industry Demonstrations offer a firsthand look at their tools and techniques. At the same time, the interactive First Responder Obstacle Course promises to be a fun and educational experience for participants of all ages. This fosters a deeper appreciation for the challenges and skills involved in emergency response scenarios, making you feel privileged to be part of this event.
"We believe in giving our students more than just textbook knowledge," said Guadalupe Capozzi, Administration of Justice Instructor at Lemoore College. "Our goal is to provide them with a firsthand look at what law enforcement truly entails. Through hands-on learning opportunities, such as our First Responders Expo, students gain valuable insights into the daily critical work our law enforcement professionals undertake."
