Certified Nursing Assistant*

If you are interested in making a difference in people's lives, consider becoming a certified nursing assistant.  The Coalinga College Certified Nursing Assistant program prepares students for the field in just eighteen weeks! 

Students interested in enrolling in the Coalinga College Certified Nursing Assistant program must be at least 17 years of age, pass a physical examination, and submit fingerprints for FBI and DOJ clearances. 

Students studying in the Coalinga College' Certified Nursing Assistant program will learn laboratory skills and be provided with in-hospital training.  Upon completion of this program, students will be prepared for the certification examination.

Fall 2024 Firebaugh Center CNA Program:
  • Theory: WTF August 14th-September 11th at the Firebaugh Center room 218 7:00AM-3:30PM
  • Clinical: WTF September 12th-October 11th 6:30AM-3:30PM in Chowchilla, CA
  • In preparation for applying to the program when the application window opens...
    • Students MUST attend orientation in order to get into the Nursing Assistant Training Program, typically held in the evenings:
      • Firebaugh Center CNA Orientation: July 26, 2024 at 5:00pm
    • All applications MUST be completed in their entirety prior to submitting.
    • A downloadable application link will be made available during the application window or paper-based version can be picked up at 300 Cherry Lane, Coalinga CA, 93210 in the Administration Building B. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm or 900 O Street, Firebaugh, CA 93611 in Student Services,  Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm 
*Due to an overwhelming response to the C.N.A. course, the first 15 students who submit completed applications will be registered into the course. However, we will also accept 5 alternate student applications (to be completed if accepted into the course on space availability) which will be placed onto a waiting alternate list.

A notification will be posted when all spots have been filled however please call (559) 934-2236 (Coalinga) or 559-934-2980 (Firebaugh) first about the space availability prior to completing an application.
Additional Information
  • Students in the Certified Nursing Assisting Program are required to wear uniforms.

    Royal Blue Scrubs, Second Hand Watch, Stethoscope, blood pressure cuff and all white shoes (must be completely white/no cloth material). The uniform/supplies are required and the responsibility of the student to obtain after being accepted into the NATP/CNA Program.

  • To complete a background check:
    1) Log onto: http://www.sjvnecbackground.com/ 
    2) Please print and submit a copy of Disclosure and Authorization form to the Health Careers Office
    3) Please print and submit a copy of your paid receipt to the Health Careers Office
    4) Chain of Custody forms are available at the Health Careers Office upon receipt of copies from step 2 & 3

* This program option is not eligible for federal student aid funding. Students who pursue this program option may seek financial assistance from the California Promise Grant which can help pay for enrollment fees if eligible.
