Are you fascinated with events of the past? Do you wish to gain further understanding of the human experience throughout different times and places in history, and how that experience affects today's society? Then, a History Associate Degree for Transfer from Coalinga College might be perfect for you!

In this program, you will learn about the History of the United States, world history, cultures, and more. You will also prepare yourself for upper division academic work and for a number of different upper division degrees.

Coalinga College's History Degree is an Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) program which means, once you've completed the program, you will be able to seamlessly transfer to a California State University History major. Although completion of the program doesn’t guarantee admission to a specific institution or academic program, it is the first major step toward earning a Bachelor’s degree in History or a related field of study.

Program Options

Upon completion of the degree requirement, students will begin preparation for careers such as teaching, human services, journalism, politics, public relations, business, and public administration. While a baccalaureate degree is recommended preparation for those considering professional careers in this field, the completion of this suggested program will demonstrate commitment to the field, and provide comprehensive preparation for upper division work.
